I've seen many projects that have a very low truck number. The truck number is the number of people on your team who could be hit by trucks before your project crashes and burns. Having a low truck number introduces a large risk into your project. Try to spread the knowledge around. Pair programming sometimes helps. Get developers to work on different parts of the system than they're used to. The more you can spread the knowledge of the system throughout your team, the better position you'll be in if someone gets injured or goes on vacation or perhaps wins the lottery.
